Something not working, or just want to ask?

Requirements
| Mac | Apple Silicon (M1 or later). JellyDazzle is built natively for arm64 and does not run on Intel Macs. |
|---|---|
| macOS | 11.0 Big Sur or later. System-wide audio capture needs macOS 14.2 or later; on older versions JellyDazzle falls back to the microphone. |
| Permissions | Microphone access, so the visuals can react to sound. The app runs without it — the patterns just stop responding. |
Common questions
It looks frozen when I first open it.
Give it up to a minute. On first launch JellyDazzle probes the available audio devices before it
starts drawing, and on some Macs that probe takes 30–60 seconds. It is working, not hung. Later
launches are immediate.
The visuals are not reacting to my music.
Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and confirm
JellyDazzle is allowed. On macOS 14.2 and later it listens to your Mac’s own output, so it
should follow anything that is playing. On older systems it uses the microphone instead, so it hears
the room rather than the app.
Why does a screensaver want the microphone?
So it can move with the music. The audio is analysed in memory to drive each frame and is then
discarded — never recorded, never stored, never sent anywhere. The app has no network
capability at all. See the privacy policy.
Does it run on an Intel Mac?
No. The rendering core is hand-written ARM64 assembly, so JellyDazzle is Apple Silicon only.
How do I change patterns or colours?
JellyDazzle cycles through its pattern library on its own. You can browse every pattern and palette
in the library.
Reporting a problem
Email support@libcsys.com and include, if you can:
- Your macOS version and Mac model
- The JellyDazzle version
- What you expected, and what happened instead
- A screenshot or short screen recording, if it is something visual
